Scaling the Surface: A Practical Approach to Scaling and Crusting Skin Disorders in Dogs and Cats

Dermatology | Primary Care | 43 mins

Scaling and crusting skin lesions are a common and often frustrating finding in both canine and feline patients. These signs can arise from a wide variety of underlying conditions—ranging from infectious to inflammatory to metabolic—and interpreting them accurately is key to successful management.

In this informative webinar, we’ll explore the major diseases that lead to scaling and crusting, and provide a structured, logical approach to diagnosing and working up these complex cases. You’ll learn how to use clues such as lesion location, distribution, breed, age of onset, pruritus, and other clinical signs to narrow down your differentials and guide your diagnostic plan.

We’ll also cover current treatment options tailored to specific causes, helping you manage these patients more effectively and improve outcomes.

Whether you’re tackling stubborn seborrhea or puzzling over parakeratosis, this session will give you the confidence to approach scaling and crusting disorders with clarity and competence.
