On Their Last Legs: Diagnosing and Managing Canine Pododermatitis

Dermatology | Primary Care | 32 mins

Pododermatitis is a frequently encountered but often complex dermatological issue in dogs. Affecting the paws—including interdigital spaces, footpads, nails, and nail folds—this condition can range from mild irritation to chronic, painful disease that is difficult to resolve.

In this comprehensive and practical webinar, we’ll delve into the multifactorial nature of pododermatitis, exploring its many underlying causes and why accurate diagnosis is essential for successful management. You’ll learn how to assess presenting signs, identify contributing factors, and select the most appropriate diagnostic tests.

We’ll also cover effective strategies for pain management in these patients, and provide guidance on how to treat associated claw diseases, which can further complicate cases. Whether the lesions wax and wane or persist despite treatment, this session will help you take control of these challenging cases with a structured, evidence-based approach.

Designed for general practitioners and those with an interest in dermatology, this webinar offers the tools and confidence needed to better manage paw problems and improve patient outcomes.
