Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) – What Could Go Wrong?

ECC | Primary Care | 58 mins

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are a cornerstone of pain management in veterinary medicine—but they’re not without risk. When things go wrong, the consequences can range from gastrointestinal irritation to life-threatening renal and hepatic injury.

In this essential webinar, we’ll revisit how NSAIDs work—what makes them effective, and why their mechanism of action can become problematic in certain situations. You’ll learn to identify early signs of NSAID toxicity and discover why treatment often requires more than just gastroprotectants.

We’ll also explore which patients are most vulnerable to adverse effects—even at standard doses—including those with pre-existing conditions or concurrent therapies that increase risk. By the end of the session, you’ll be better equipped to make informed, patient-specific decisions about NSAID use, improving safety while maintaining efficacy.

Ideal for vets in general practice, emergency care, or those looking to refresh their pharmacological understanding, this webinar delivers practical, evidence-based insights you can apply immediately in clinical practice.
