Mast cell tumours – A surgical Approach

Soft Tissue Surgery | Oncology | 72 mins

Understanding and discussing the principles of oncological surgery can help us make reasonable and appropriate decisions when deciding whether surgery has a role in the treatment of mast cell tumours sending on biological behaviour, anatomical location and the availability of adjunctive treatments. Not only does this mean we know what is feasible, but we can make better decisions for the animals and communicate effectively with owners to manage expectations and make appropriate treatment choices with them. This webinar will review some oncological principles with particular application to mast cell tumour, whether surgical biopsy is appropriate or possibly pragmatically unnecessary and what resection options (if appropriate) are possible in different anatomical locations.
