Itching for Answers: Understanding Canine Pruritus and Hypersensitivities

Dermatology | Primary Care | 93 mins

Pruritus is one of the most common and challenging presentations in small animal practice. In this insightful webinar, we’ll explore the complex interplay between the immune system and the skin, deepening your understanding of the immune responses that drive itching in dogs.

We’ll revisit the key causes of pruritus, including flea and other parasitic hypersensitivities, atopic dermatitis, and food-related allergies—consolidating your knowledge of these common but often overlapping conditions. You’ll also learn to identify the clinical patterns that help differentiate between these diseases in practice.

Finally, the session will outline a logical, step-by-step approach to working up the pruritic dog, helping you build a structured and efficient diagnostic and treatment pathway.

Whether you’re a recent graduate or an experienced practitioner, this session will boost your confidence in managing itchy dogs with clarity and clinical precision.
