Feline Diabetes Mellitus: Current trends and updates

Internal Medicine | 70 mins

Cases of feline diabetes mellitus can be very challenging. Although diagnosis is often easy to establish, treatment and follow-up can be a nightmare in daily practice. In this lesson, we’ll review pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment options (detailing insulin choices and dietary requirements) as well as clinical monitoring (highlighting the relevance of clinical signs and the new continuous interstitial glucose monitoring devices). We’ll also briefly approach the new state-of-the art concerning new insulins and SGLT2-inhibitors in cats.
