Chronic pain management in dogs and cats

Anaesthesia & Analgesia | Primary Care | 61 mins

Join us for an insightful webinar on managing chronic pain in small animals. This session will cover crucial topics, including thorough pain assessments using behavioural, physiological, and contextual indicators, emphasising regular evaluations to adjust treatment plans as needed. We will discuss a multimodal approach that combines pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, allowing for tailored treatment plans based on the type and severity of pain. Guidelines for the appropriate use of analgesics will be reviewed, highlighting the importance of individualised dosing and monitoring for side effects. Additionally, the webinar will explore non-pharmacological interventions like physical therapy, acupuncture, and environmental modifications. We will also cover regular patient monitoring to assess the effectiveness of pain management strategies and the importance of educating clients on recognising signs of pain and understanding treatment options. This webinar is ideal for veterinary professionals looking to enhance their pain management strategies for improved patient care.
