Canine medical mysteries: A case based approach
This online tutored course with Jennifer Cartwright (Internal Medicine Specialist) and Dr. Liz Bode (Cardiology Specialist) will look at an array of canine medical conditions. We will examine the possible presentations, most appropriate diagnostic approaches and treatments for cases across several body systems. Throughout the course we will consult the most up-to-date literature and expert opinion and we will use real life examples. At the end of each lesson we will go through a complete case from presentation to outcome to consolidate our learning points.
This course will equip you in your diagnostic approach, interpretation of laboratory results and therapeutic choices, to do the best for your canine medical cases.
This course runs over a eight-week period and takes approximately 10 hours to complete and is the equivalent of 10 hours of CPD. It is delivered via video webinars and supplemented with a real-time discussion forum with the course tutor(s).

Meet the speakers
Jennifer Cartwright
Internal Medicine Specialist
Jennifer Cartwright is an Internal Medicine Specialist. She graduated from Bristol Veterinary School in 2010, after completing an intercalated BSc in Veterinary Pathogenesis at the University of Bristol and elected student committee positions in the British Veterinary Association, Association of Veterinary Students (UK & Ireland) and International Veterinary Students Association (global executive committee). She then worked in a small animal practice before starting advanced clinical training with a Junior Clinical Training Scholarship at the University of Nottingham, which was followed by further clinical training at the University of Edinburgh. Her Senior Clinical Training Scholarship was completed alongside a Masters in Research at the Roslin Institute and she successfully gained her Diploma from the European College of Veterinary Medicine- Companion Animals (Internal Medicine) in 2017. Jennifer completed her PhD focussed on inflammation in acute liver injury and repair at the University of Edinburgh. Alongside this she continued clinical provision across various referral centres in the UK. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the R(D)SVS, University of Edinburgh, and continues her research in the Centre for Inflammation Research and Centre for Regenerative Medicine.
