Beyond Bald: Diagnosing and Managing Canine Alopecia

Dermatology | Primary Care | 36 mins

Alopecia is a frequent and sometimes perplexing presentation in canine patients, with causes ranging from the mundane to the complex. Recognising specific patterns of hair loss is key to making a confident diagnosis and avoiding unnecessary testing.

In this practical and clinically focused webinar, we’ll explore the common—and not-so-common—patterns of alopecia in dogs. You’ll learn how to use these patterns to build a rational list of differential diagnoses and choose the most appropriate diagnostic tests.

We’ll also review treatment options tailored to underlying causes, helping you manage alopecic patients with greater accuracy and success. From parasitic infections to endocrine disorders and beyond, you’ll gain the tools to approach hair loss cases with clarity and confidence.

Ideal for general practitioners and those seeking to sharpen their dermatology skills, this session will help turn frustrating alopecia cases into satisfying diagnostic wins.
