Ear today; how can we avoid it being gone tomorrow?

What is your reaction when you see ‘sore ear’ on the diary at work? Is it “Yeah, another ear’ or ‘Argh, not another ear’? Ear disease is a frequent cause of vet visits with between 8.7-20% prevalence. Otitis is unfortunately incredibly common and significantly impact patient and owner quality of life. Within this webinar, we revisit the multiple factors that play a role in development of otitis, how to identify and manage them. We also delve into some of the other causes of otitis with practical tips on investigations and treatment in general practice. Finally, we discuss when to refer and some of the considerations to take on board to try to prevent a trip to surgery.

Victoria Robinson (Tori) qualified from the Royal (Dick) School
of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, in 2008. After several years in general practice, she completed a rotating internship at The University of Liverpool. After a year at Rutland House Referrals in St Helens, she started her specialist training at The Dermatology Referral Service in Glasgow in 2017 with Peter Forsythe and Hilary Jackson completing her residency and passing ECVD boards in 2020. She re-joined the Dick Vet in 2022 as senior lecturer. Outside of work, Tori enjoys running, Pilates and paddleboarding when not kept busy with her family and dog, Lucy.
