Making light of acid base & blood gas analysis
Performing acid-base and blood gas analysis is commonplace with our emergency veterinary patients. In this webinar, we look at assessing pH levels and recognising any abnormalities as well as interpreting whether the derangement is metabolic or respiratory in origin. Assessing a patient’s oxygenation and ventilation status from an arterial sample will also be covered to include calculating your patients A-a ratio. Finally, we will look at some common causes and treatment options for acid-base and blood gas disturbances.
