Nursing the renal patient
Patients with renal disease, both acute and chronic, make up a large percentage of veterinary caseload; it is important that the clinic is educated in gold standard care to increase quality of life for renal patients. This webinar will provide an overview of the pathophysiology of renal deterioration; discussing renal blood flow, glomerular filtration rate, electrolyte balance and how these changes affect the bigger picture. Using this information this lecture will look at how we can monitor our patients progress or deterioration, utilising diagnostics and treatment options available to the general ER practice, to advocate for a better outcome, as well as palliative care.
