Reply To: Alpha 2s and Atropine

Thank you Simon. It is hard and I am definately sensitive to trying not to offend my colleagues. I think im too gentle when i state these things. Its also difficult when your patient is not responding, you have no ecg and the situation becomes highly stressful. The patient in question did come round but the panic in the room was palpable. I have discussed this with other vets in conversation. i.e. not related to a patient and am just frustrated its happened to me twice now even though i know the theory. i also feel bad that i was ineffective in DOING more to prevent it at the time. now the patient is being referred to cardio for a heart condition and i dont think it has one. I think we just induced dysrhythmias under GA 🙁
