Sara Jackson, with regards to the glucose/lactate does the following indicate sepsis
peritoneal fluid = lower glucose than serum
= higher lactate than serum
I assume the lactate indicates anaerobic activity of the bacteria. Can yohu remind mw why the glucos is loweR?
