Viki Weigh
During Viki’s professional career, she has undertaken various roles, most of which circulate within a referral setting. Firstly, training in a small animal and equine hospital in 2006 where she gained a BSc(HONS) in Veterinary Nursing. Subsequently she was appointed as head nurse at a branch practice before moving to Chestergates Referral Hospital. Here she was predominantly a medical nurse, but also held a lectureship position in their inhouse Veterinary Nursing School run in conjunction with Myerscough College. Following this, Viki moved to the University of
Liverpool’s Small Animal Teaching Hospital gaining specialism in oncological and cardiovascular nursing for several years before establishing a new cardiology service at Chestergates Veterinary Specialists alongside Liz Bode. Viki is very keen in Cardiology and her interests lie in interventional procedures, her favourite being pacemakers. Viki now currently works at Harper-Keele Veterinary School as a clinical skills lecturer and EMS placement manager whilst still maintaining her cardiology interests via her VCS membership.
